WHY POWDER COAT ?

Glad You Asked!

Powder coating is a superior way of protecting and maintaining the attractiveness and durability of metal and other materials and this is provided by our sister company Calder Powder Coaters. This advanced form of coating is used on industrial, agricultural, and consumer products.

In addition to Air Max Fans products, a few of the items that are also powder coated include: ranges, refrigerators, washers, dryers, water heaters, automotive body accessories and parts, engine parts, farm tractors, and equipment, window frames, light fixtures, bicycles, exercise equipment, ski poles, and modular furniture.

There are environmental benefits to powder coating also. These benefits are as follows:

  • Liquid finishing requires solvents that have atmospheric and disposal problems associated with them. Powder coating contains no solvents. Therefore, there are little, if any, emissions associated with the process.
  • Because there are no volatile organic compounds (VOC) in power coating, recovery of the powder can be within the building where the process is accomplished. This eliminates exhausting useful interior heat and sending particles into the atmosphere.
  • Powder coating does not run, drip, or sag like liquid paint and the finish is resistant to corrosion, heat, impact, abrasion, fading from sunlight, and extreme weather.
  • Through technological advancement, in the future more and more products will be powder coated. Even nonmetal items will be able to benefit from the process as lower curing temperature powders are developed, even some plastics.
